The new moon (AKAdark side) is the birthing cycle of the moons various phases. The new moon is a wonderful time for planning and seeding intentions. It is often considered a time for ritual, to create a vision and mindset one’s true heart’s desire. As the New Moon approaches, our energy is generally low. This low energy gives us a chance to turn inward and begin to bring clarity to our journey. It allows us to cultivate our ideas and give life to our visions as they manifest into reality. Just as the moon goes inward, we need to go inward to reflect and understand the truth…This dark side of the moon offers a nurturing environment where our intentions can establish roots.
During the new moon time you may want to sit in silence and ask yourself, what is your purpose? What are your gifts? How can you serve? What is your spiritual intention? All of these questions will tune you into your true essence. It aligns you with your vibration of purpose. When you vibrate to the frequency of your heart you are full of positivity and you radiate that outward and attract that same energy.
During this time I like to focus on more internal abundance rather than external although sometimes the external view is what brings out the awareness of what is truly going on inside of us. Guilt, fear, negative talk, doubt etc. I use sage to help burn away negative energy and clear the space for new positive vibes.
I like to write what I would like or need in my life for growth and understanding. I make sure it is very clear and specific and precise. This is important as the universe conspires to help us we NEED to be clear otherwise your delivery may come in a different form or shape than you anticipated. Look at all aspects of your life business, relationships and spiritual growth. Most of these things should be more about your internal growth instead of the external material things…those will come to you as added bonuses as you do the work…these cannot be attachments to happiness otherwise they won’t happen.
We need to feel that we already have what we intent to manifest. By working with our wishes and with the moon, there is no more “I wish one day”, “maybe” or “would like”. We just cut the crap here and get down to what’s really working. So, before the next new moon take yourself some time and sit for a while with your most pressing questions.
• What is it that I really, really want?
• How would I like my life to look and feel like?
• Which changes would I like to see in my life?
Honoring the dark moons with these simple rituals brings our year into a new kind of focus. We strengthen our connection to the universe in which we live and find peace in both emptiness and fullness, each of which are natural and necessary—two sides of the same moon.
