How you spend your first few moments in the morning is crucial as it channels the energy for your entire day. Do you find yourself jumping out of bed in a rush? My 3 (easy) "Wake up with gratitude...Ready, set, go!” steps will turn that low vibrational, moody, blah energy into a loving, beautiful, positive energy that will continue to grow and evolve as the day unfolds.
1. READY> Breathe (duh! I told you it was easy) – Take 3 deep inhales and exhales – it naturally relaxes your body and mind and brings more clarity and focus.
2. SET> Take a few moments of stillness. If your mind wanders (which it will, as it bulldozes through your endless to do list) just simply bring your awareness back to you breath.
3. GO> Think (yes, now you can think) of 3 things you are grateful for, they can be great big things like your heartbeat or your breath, or they can be little things like your yummy vitamin packed smoothie or that dark chocolate. Once you come up with the 3, it’s time to get the day going!
Why do these simple steps work? As you bring awareness to each moment and begin to draw in gratitude for what you have, your body’s energy changes. You will begin to bring much more focus to the positive in your life rather than the lack of, which tends to bring you down. The corners of your mouth with naturally turn up slightly if not into a full smile, you will become lighter and feel happier. The more you practice these steps, the more goodness will come to you and the more you will enjoy and love your life!
